The Educational Talent Search program was refunded by the U. S. Department of Education in the amount of $336,623. Dr. Cheryl Lewis as project director provides comprehensive outreach services to 900 participants by fostering a partnership with Elizabeth City State University and ten targeted northeastern North Carolina communities to promote educational opportunities for low-income and potential first generation college students. The program, designed to help participants reach their maximum educational potential by providing them with resources and skills, enables them to 1) successfully meet the challenges of the 21st century; 2) make sound career decisions, and 3) pursue post secondary opportunities and rewarding trades and professions.
