Bertie County Alumni Chapter member named Ms. Alumni 2015

bertie-county-alumni-chap The National Alumni Association for Elizabeth City State University congratulates Andrea Canada ('94) as Ms. Alumni 2015. The NAA held the annual Mr./Ms. Alumni Coronation on October 23, at the Kermit E. White Graduate and Continuing Education Center. Ms. Andrea Canada, a third grade teacher at Bearfield Primary School in Ahoskie, N.C., is a member of the Bertie County Alumni Chapter. The first runner up was Trisha Walton ('96), an assistant principal at Central Middle School in Gatesville, N.C., and a member of the Elizabeth City Area Alumni Chapter. The attendants included Sybil Stanley Covington ('81), a member of the Washington D. C. Metro Alumni Chapter and Mikel Brabham, ('01) a member of the Robert Harvey Tri-State Chapter. The royal court raised $40,000 that supports ECSU student recruitment initiatives and university scholarships. NAA President Dr. Jeanette Evans said the goal for next year is to have a representative from each of the NAA's 30 chapters and a contest fundraising goal of $200,000. The contest is the NAA's major fundraiser that supports university scholarships and student recruitment.
